Regime Risk-on

The Week in Review

Market Regime

RISK-ON the regime engine's latest close-of-day read, carried into the weekend (markets closed).

The regime engine's close-of-day call is RISK-ON, holding from the prior week with no flip in between. The internals back it. VIX printed 15.67 calm end of the range. Breadth is healthy at 64.3% of names above their 200-EMA (628/976), so this is participation, not a handful of generals dragging an index. SPY closed at 750.87, sitting +8.0% over its 200-EMA of 695.5.

Rates did little of consequence. The 10Y finished at 4.57% (WoW +1bps) while the front end eased, 2Y at 4.16% (WoW -5bps). The 10Y-2Y spread came in at 0.37% (WoW +2bps) still positive, still shallow. Credit stayed relaxed with the HY spread at 2.71% (WoW +2bps), no stress signal there. The labor read stayed firm initial jobless claims fell to 208K (WoW -8K), against 4.2% unemployment and 159.0M nonfarm payrolls. Fed funds remain 3.63%. Calm tape, wide-open risk appetite, no cracks in credit.

Themes in Motion

Four narratives are in acceleration. Cybersecurity (7 names), Oncology & immunology (7), Fintech & consumer credit (8), and Space economy (10) are the model's ACCELERATING cohort the space book is the widest, with ten names carrying the tape.

The rest of the leadership has matured rather than rolled. Semi foundry & equipment (5), AI chips & memory (7), GPU cloud & neoclouds (5), Nuclear & uranium (8), Networking & optical (6), and Mega-cap AI platforms (8) are all MATURING. None of these is broken; they've simply moved past the phase where strength alone is the entry. In a MATURING theme the pullback to moving-average support is the setup, not a chased breakout.

Under the Lens

421 dossiers got a deep refresh this week, and the analysis clustered around the two ends of the barbell accelerating biotech and maturing semis.

  • AVGO (Broadcom): HIGH conviction, the top-ranked name in the book. Mega-cap AI platform exposure with a maturing theme underneath it the tape is doing the work while the narrative stays intact.
  • AMD (Advanced Micro Devices): AI chips & memory, MATURING. Core semiconductor beta; the setup here is a support retest, not an extension buy.
  • ALAB (Astera Labs): connectivity silicon riding the AI-chips complex a second-derivative play on the same MATURING theme as AMD.
  • AFRM (Affirm): the fintech & consumer-credit accelerant in the refresh set, sitting in an ACCELERATING theme with a firm labor backdrop behind consumer credit.
  • ABVX (Abivax) / ABCL (AbCellera) / AGIO (Agios) / AKTS (Aktis Oncology): the oncology & immunology cluster, ACCELERATING. Narrative-driven biotech where the story leads price rather than the multiple.
  • AAOI (Applied Optoelectronics): networking & optical, MATURING an optical-transport read on the AI-buildout demand chain.
  • AEHR (Aehr Test Systems): semi test equipment, and it carries a catalyst next week (below) the refresh matters because the print lands into it.

The Week Ahead

The earnings calendar front-loads. COIN, GENI, and NKE headline the earliest slots, followed by CLF and SNEX. Wednesday-area prints are the dense cluster: AEHR, BTGO, DRTS, GCO, MMYT, and TXN all report together TXN is the read-through for the maturing semi complex, and AEHR reports directly into its freshly refreshed dossier. Late in the week bring ASTS (the space-economy name, into an ACCELERATING theme), AVNS, CCS, and CMG.

Watching TXN as the tell for whether the maturing semi theme has another leg or needs its pullback first, and ASTS as the highest-beta reading on whether the space narrative's acceleration is confirmed by the fundamentals. Names printing inside three trading days are binary risk, not setups the job into the calendar is to let the tape clear the events, then re-read the accelerating themes for clean re-entries.
